Fantastic Friday.

Friday, May 6, 2016 Day 5

Each day since I have arrived the weather has been magnificent. Wall to wall sunshine and blue skies from dawn to dusk! Love it! Today was especially warm and enjoyable. I went out about 8:30am and walked around the neighbourhood. It is so pretty here. I love the little units and how some people have made their little front yards so pretty. I also love seeing all the families on their bikes and it is amazing how the cars and bikes are so in synch and John has done a wonderful job driving in this environment as the bikes seem to pop out of nowhere! So many blonde haired people and wished I could get a picture of the mom on her bike with a baby at the front and another little one on the back and a third child riding her bike alongside, all with blonde hair ..looked so beautiful …but they were too far away for me to snap the photo. Just love the “family feeling”..or the mom imageimageimageon her bike and dad on his and the 3 children alongside on their bikes, all going to and from the grocery store and of course with blond hair!!

Before  I left Rodger’s on Monday, Andrea surprised me by uploading a couple of books onto Kindle on my IPad. That was so thoughtful of her and I have just finished reading NIGHT by Elie Wiesel. It is a most powerful book about his time in the Nazi concentration camp at the height of the holocaust. I recommend everyone read this book! We must never forget!

This afternoon we headed out to the North Sea and quite a contrast from our day there on Tuesday, the day I arrived. Today is a bank holiday, also the children are on 2 weeks school holiday and the weather is hot and sunny, so the beach was packed! So beautiful to see families and so many children enjoying the relaxation of a day at the beach!

Another yummy supper cooked by Jackie and a pleasant evening here in Katwijk.

Sounds fun! I think you have been in almost every Ocean/Sea out there. To be honest, I didn’t even know there was one called the North Sea. Your not missing much here so keep enjoying your trip!
