A Happy Day in Jacksonville

Friday morning Bryan was out the door before 8:30 am to head to his conference a short distance from the hotel. I was on my own for the day and whiled away the time doing all sorts of things but mainly just relaxing. It took awhile for the sun to come out but as soon as I saw it on full force I bolted out to the pool and lay there reading a great book Tracy gave me called Travel The World on $50 A Day. It is an awesome book and I have learned so many new tips for my next travel adventure! Bryan arrived back about 5:30 pm and we soon piled into the car to head to one of the beautiful beaches here in Jacksonville. It was Atlantic Beach, about a 15 minute drive from here and the weird thing was, as we were driving there, the air was changing and it was like a heavy fog with no more sunshine, moments after I had exclaimed to Bryan how beautiful the weather was, blue skies, sunshine etc. We parked the car and walked along the beach for awhile. Beautiful, white, soft sand and lovely big waves rolling up on the shore. The water temperature felt “refreshing”, but we did not swim as the air felt a little cool now. We strolled around the pretty neighbourhood, then drove back to our hotel, stopping again at Sonic drive-in eatery to get our half price milkshakes to do some more “taste testing”, as we call it and walked over to an incredible pizza place called Your Pie. The restaurant itself was a beautiful setting and to order your pizza you can pick one or design your own and they make it right in front of you and mine was sooooooo delicious. I chose a veggie one with lots of veggies on it and Bryan was sure it was going to taste awful but he loved it too. Back to our room, we hung out for a bit and lights out near midnight. A happy day in Jacksonville.

The water and surfing waves look powerful with the fog in the background. Delicious looking pizza Kathy.
