Living the Dream

January 11, 2013
Day 3 Saturday, December 29, 2012
I woke up at 6:15 am and checked outside. No more raining and the temperature was warm. I went over to the main office and checked the temperature. 60% chance of showers but NO LUGGAGE still! We had picked up 4 rain ponchos the night before, as it was drizzling then. When I returned to the room, I called again re the luggage; got the others up and we left by 7:15 am for Harry Potter World. We arrived right at 8.
We had a wonderful time at Harry Potter World. It was very expensive.  About $90.00 each and we only had 4 hours but we had no choice if we wanted to see it. We headed right to the main ride, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and already there were hundreds of people lined up and the wait time was 1.5 hours but we lined up and it actually went much faster and we really liked the one minute ride!!! We walked all around; had some yummy butter beer  and got some very interesting jelly beans, 1/2 of which are yummy flavors and the other 1/2 disgusting!. We did one other ride, Flight of the Hippogriff, which again had a very long line-up and wait time and then walked through the rest of  Harry Potter World and through a couple of the other parks before exiting at 12 noon. I had borrowed a cell phone from someone and called the hotel and thankfully Trevor’s suitcase had arrived. It was a sahmee that for the exorbitant price we paid for the tickets that we did not get to enjoy the whole of Universal’s Islands of Adventure, but c’est la vie!
We had to backtrack back to the hotel and we felt we were on track time wise until we got onto the main road to Port Canaveral, which was almost at a complete standstill!. This was extremely stressful. There was no way we could make the cruise on time if we remained in this gridlock and we did not know how to get out of it. I was sure we would not make the was awful. We crawled along for quite awhile; then fortunately the traffic opened up and we arrived at Port Canaveral at 2:30 pm..check-in time was over at 3:00 pm! Another delay as we once again GPS’d to find the car rental office but the system failed and we could not locate it anywhere!! It was almost 3 when we found it after I ran into another car rental place and they told us the company had been bought out and the name was changed from Alamo to Enterprise. I was so stressed when I ran into the office I said I needed a hug and they gave me one and settled me down and got us to the cruise ship on time!! Phew!!!~
