Dim Sum for the First Time

May 7, 2012

This morning Minori, Shiori, Trevor and I went downtown to meet up with a friend of Minori’s. Her name is Sigemi and her husband teaches at the same school as Minori’s. They are also from Japan. What a delightful young woman she is. We spent the whole day with her. She took us for Dim Sum and we enjoyed that alot .My first time to ever have Dim Sum! Then we had a wonderful day touring Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, both of which comprise Hong Kong along with the New Territories. There are over 7 million inhabitants of Hong Kong covering 1104 square kilometers and the parts we got to see are so impeccably clean. We really enjoyed wallking along the promenade by the harbour and seeing the Avenue of Stars modelled after the Hollywood avenue. Walking through the Temple Street Night Market was interesting  and after more Chinese food in the evening, we  were invited to Sigemi’s apartment on the 65th floor of a beautiful building. We had the most incredible view of the city from her balcony .We also got to enjoy the nightly Symphony of Lights; a spectacular sound and light show that has made itself into the Guiness Book of World Records as the world’s largest permanent sound and light show.

Hong Kong is a city of endless skyscrapers;masses of people; a skyline that takes your breath away.

I am so happy that I got to experience Hong Kong, a place I had often heard about but never thought I would ever get to visit!
